Launching of the Bridge over Mistecka Street, Ostrava
Launching of the Bridge over Mistecka Street, Ostrava
Client: Bögl a Krysl
Stage: Temporary works
Design: 03/2008 – 03/2009
Incrementally launched bridge with total length of 234 m. The maximal span of 75 m was reduced to 49 m using a temporary support in rail yard. To eliminate the deformation of the cantilever 820 mm, and for the approach to the supports, a telescopic nose of 20 m length was used. The haunch of the main girder in the first bridge span was supplemented by a welded wedge of 22,7 m length, which is connected to the launching nose at the head of the bridge.
Although the longitudinal shape of the bridge is significantly variable, the launching was designed so that no height rectification of leveling saddles was necessary on the supports. The ground plan deviations of the bridge, caused by the transitional, were up to 450 mm. For this reason, temporary transverse girders were used on the launching track and doubled saddles and rectified transverse guides were fitted on the supports.
